Youth Ministry

Youth Group

Our youth group is called Minions. A Minion is a lesser who follows a greater. We as youth here at New Haven UMC recognize our shortcomings and following the great I AM!

We believe the church is a place for youth to come and be themselves—we want them to be able to learn and ask questions in a safe environment where they can freely learn about the love and grace of Jesus Christ.

We believe we are on a Journey with our faith—how we understand it, how it changes us and how we live it out. No matter where you are on your journey, you’re welcome in our church and in our youth program.

Youth Group

We meet together to grow in Christ, fellowship, have fun, and to learn to be Servants of Christ. There are many ways to be involved in and apart of the youth Ministries of New Haven United Methodist Church

The New Haven Youth group is made up of youth in 6th-12th grade. It is open to any one of that age group regardless of social standing, what school you go to, what mistakes you have made or what accomplishments you have earned.

We Currently have 1 Sunday school class, but will be splitting into 2 shortly; one for middle school (6-8) and one for high school (9-12).

Sunday night is a very special time for our youth group, because it is when we meet in small groups to learn more about God’s word, grow in our faith, and grow closer together as one body in Christ working together to over come the pitfalls of life.

Middle School Time is from 5-6pm on Sunday nights and it’s a time that our middle schoolers get to be their wacky energetic rambunctious selves. We teach a lesson and play some games.

Sunday Night Dinner is a great time of fellowship for both our middle and high school students. And as an added bonus we play big group games from 6-7pm.

Youth Group

High School Time is after dinner from 6-8:30pm in which we dive a little deeper in to the scriptures as well as discuss current issues in the lives of our youth.

Wednesday Evenings are very different from other churches because our Wednesdays are different every week. Wednesday is a time that we meet to talk about how our week is going and recharge a bit by having fun usually from 6-8pm, although it changes from week to week depending on what we do. We have done service projects, bowling, laser quest, helped at the Tulsa food bank and restore hope, played games, watched movies and so much more.

Youth Group

Part of being a disciple of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world means that we are going to have to become better leaders in the world. So we work diligently on developing each an every youth into being an effective leader. We understand that each youth will have a different leadership style and serve in a way as unique as they are, but they all have special God given gifts and talents that we working to mature.

We used a variety of different Leadership development techniques from group building games to empowering them to create, plan, and lead youth events and bible studies.

We also are active in District Youth Council and events as well as with the Conference Council of Youth Ministries at the state level.
