Outreach Ministry

Angel Tree

A ministry to area children and children of incarcerated parents, seeing that 40 or more children each year will have gifts at Christmas.

Carnegie Adoption

We have adopted Carnegie Elementary, our neighborhood school, through the Chamber of Commerce Partners in Education program. As part of this adoption, we can serve as mentors or lunch buddies for Carnegie children, help with special activities, support the teachers and children, and collect various school supplies. Contact Stacey Schifferdecker for more information.

Child S.H.A.R.E.

A support group for foster parents meets at New Haven UMC on the 3rd Monday evening of the month. We provide youth and child care while the parents are in the meeting.

Crosses of LoveCrosses of Love

This Dutch tradition of delivering crosses laden with gifts on Palm Sunday to friends and those in need has become a New Haven tradition. For over 23 years, we’ve made over 100 crosses each year and delivered them to a wide variety of places, including schools, Restore Hope, children’s homes, fire and police stations, prison ministries, and more.

Dinner at the Day Center for the Homeless

We prepare and serve this meal four times a year. It’s truly a church-wide effort commonly including as many as thirty people preparing, delivering, and/or serving the meal. We have some dates that we always serve, including Halloween and New Year’s Eve.

Exodus House

An apartment is supplied for a newly released prisoner for 5-8 months. We give additional personal support by visits, rides to church, and having a relationship with the person.

Faithful Friends

A weekly Sunday School class at New Haven for children with special needs.

Circle of CareHappy Children’s Home

A Tulsa District UMC sponsored Christian orphanage in China. New Haven helps financially and sends teams at least once a year to minister to and with the children and staff.

Mountain of Food

For three Sundays, the front of our sanctuary is filled with thousands of pounds of food. Last year, we collected over $7000 worth of food, weighing over six tons!

Project Transformation

We partner to support this summer literacy program for children grades 1-6 who are underserved. We provide readers for one-on-one attention with the children, sponsor an intern, provide supplies and meals for the interns.

Respite Care

Meets the second Saturday of the month from 3-7 p.m. It is for children with special needs and their siblings and gives parents a 4 hour break to rest and do whatever they want!

St. Luke’s Redemption Church

A ministry to youth and children of incarcerated parents. We lead this program once a month, including a variety of activities from sharing a meal, doing arts and crafts, bible study, to swimming, field trips, and more.
