Sunday School ActivitySunday School

Join us for GodTrak every Sunday at 9:45 in Grand Central Station! Kids enjoy learning about the Bible and growing in faith through this rotational Sunday school. They may visit Drama Depot to hear and act out Bible Stories; go to the Polar Express Café for art, cooking, or science projects, or use one of the computers in the Dispatch Shack. This interactive approach to learning about the Bible reaches children in new, fresh ways because they not only hear the stories of the Bible, but also experience them.

We also have a Sunday school class for special needs children called Faithful Friends.

Worship Services

Children are always welcome in worship! Children’s Bibles are available in each pew, and each Sunday, we have a Children’s Children's Conversation timeConversation time when all children are invited to the front of the church for a few moments. We also invite your children to check out The Kids’ Korner located directly outside the sanctuary, which is stocked with worship bags, paper activities, books, and colored pencils.

JAM Session

Following the Children’s Conversation during the 8:45 service, children aged four through first grade are invited to go to a JAM Session. During this special time together, these children hear Bible stories, play games, and do crafts. They return to the Sanctuary at the end of the service.

Celebration Singers

Celebration SingersFollowing the Children’s Conversation during the 11:00 service, children aged four through fifth grade are invited to join the Celebration Singers. This children’s choir rehearses each week during the school year and sings during both worship services on the first Sunday of each month.

Celebration Singers does not meet on Communion Sundays so families can enjoy Communion together.

Bible Blast

Bible Blast is a fun and exciting program that teaches God’s word to children in kindergarten through fifth grade. It is centered around families reading the Bible together daily. Parents read a story from The Picture Bible to their children each week and review the quizzing questions and answers in the NurseryBible Blast notebook. Then, the children meet together for a high-energy, motivational, music-filled Bible Blast program from 6:00-7:30 Sunday evenings.

Nursery

Our loving nursery staff is available every Sunday morning for our smallest members (infants through 3-year-olds). Child care is also available for church events and meetings. Please contact the church office one week in advance to make arrangements to have staff available.

Special Programs

  • Mission and Outreach Opportunities - We are always looking for new ways to help our kids learn to extend God’s love. Vacation Bible School always includes a mission project and we also participate in Operation Christmas Child each year. Other projects have included making birthday bags for Project Elf and weekend food bags for local low-income schools. We also participate in church-wide mission projects such as serving meals at the Day Center for the Homeless.
  • Vacation Bible School - Our whole church family pitches in to make VBS a great experience for all involved...children, youth, and adults! The church is transformed into fun, theme-related learning centers, and the kids also experience the joy of extending God’s love by helping with a VBS outreach project.
  • Fourth of July - We host a fun-filled 4th of July Bike Parade every year! At 10:00 am, everyone meets on the front lawn of the church to decorate their bikes, trikes, wagons, strollers, etc. Then we parade through the neighborhood, where the streets have been blocked off for safety. After we return to the church, the worship band provides entertainment and everyone enjoys snow cones and playing on the inflatable water slide. This fun-filled event is an annual tradition for people in the New Haven neighborhood as well as all over Tulsa.
  • Summer Camp – Children from 1st to 5th grade can go to summer camp at Camp Egan near Tahlequah. First and second graders go to the one-night long Sonshine Camp, while third-fifth graders enjoy two nights of camp.
  • Wednesday GymJam (SUMMER ONLY) – School’s out and it is time for fun! Every Wednesday afternoon we gather at the church for fun activities such as tie-dyeing socks and making box cars for an indoor “drive-in movie.” Sometimes we also go on field trips to a pool, park, movie theater, etc.
