Pat Bates is the secretary at New Haven United Methodist Church. She comes here after working as secretary at another Methodist church for 3 years, so the transition was fairly easy. She was raised in Sapulpa from junior high age up, but moved to Tulsa after her marriage to Chuck Bates, her high school sweetheart. They have been married for 44 years and have 3 grown children scattered around the USA. They lived in the New Haven neighborhood when the children were small and all 3 attended Carnegie. The family attended First United Methodist, Tulsa, for over 30 years and were very active there.

Pat has been a handbell ringer for 36 years and she and Chuck both have always sung in the choir. In 1996, she and Chuck moved back to Sapulpa and reconnected with their roots there by rejoining First United Methodist church of Sapulpa, where they still attend.
They have one grandson, Zachary, who is 12 years old and goes to Victory Christian School. Pat’s hobbies include knitting and gardening and she loves to travel, but her favorite day would be just hanging out with her family.
