Cindy Havlik - Senior Pastor
Rev. Cindy Havlik is married to Peter Havlik, a process engineering manager at Syntroleum Corporation. Their oldest daughter, Nicole Grafton, is married to their son-in-law, Patrick Grafton and lives north of Dallas. Audrey, their middle daughter, resides in Tulsa, and their youngest daughter, Laura, is currently a senior in college.
Cindy’s vocational journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from the University of Kentucky. She was employed at Marathon Oil Company in Houston, Texas for over seven years. Once she began to answer God’s call on her life, Cindy was offered a position at The Woodlands United Methodist Church in Houston where she gained over six years of experience. During Peter and Cindy’s tenure in Lake Charles, Louisiana, she continued her church staff experience at University United Methodist Church. On their move to Tulsa, Cindy joined the staff at Faith United Methodist Church. In her time at Faith UMC, she served in many areas including Lay Minister of Congregational Development, Director of Evangelism and Assimilation, Business Manager, Associate Pastor of Church Administration and Senior Associate Pastor of Nurture and Outreach. She has over 17 years of experience in the multi-staff church setting.
Cindy began her seminary studies at Perkins School of Theology, completing over half of the required credits toward the Masters of Divinity degree. After her family moved to Tulsa, she transferred to Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa and graduated summa cum laude. In May of 2005 she was commissioned Elder and appointed to Faith UMC as Associate Pastor. In May of 2008 Cindy was ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church, continuing her appointment at Faith UMC as Senior Associate Pastor, where she has served for the past 8 years. Cindy was appointed as Senior Pastor at New Haven UMC in June of 2009.
Cindy serves on the District Board of Church Location and Building, is on the Board for Cookson Hills Ministry, has served in the annual conference as a member of the Worship Planning Committee, and currently serves on the Board of Ordained Ministry.
Cindy’s passion for ministry lies in many areas, including the mission field. She has participated in international missions to El Salvador, Nicaragua, Mexico, Costa Rica, and most recently, to Cuba. She has also journeyed to New Orleans to help rebuild after the devastation of hurricane Katrina, and taken part in local missions at Restore Hope, Cookson Hills, Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless and the Laura Dester Shelter.
Cindy loves people, outdoor sports and activities, and especially loves the church of Jesus Christ.
